If anyone is looking to provide a loving, long-term home to a horse, the 4-H office has been contacted by a woman in Genesee who has two Appaloosas available.  Information on the gelding and mare can be found below – along with contact details.  A photo of both horses is attached above.

Please share this information in an attempt to find this pair a wonderful home.  Thanks!

Amy,

I spoke to you this morning about our two Appaloosa horses, Shy Ann and Nacho.  Shy Ann is the darker colored one and Nacho is the other one.  They were both checked over by the vet late last fall and are in good health.  Nacho, a gelding, is approximately 7 years old and a wonderful horse who likes people. Shy Ann, a mare, is approximately 20 years old.  Neither horse has been ridden for some time.  He needs an experienced rider because he is spirited and she would be good for a less experienced child.  She does have some joint stiffness due to her age and he is at least partially blind in his left eye.

We are both in our 70's and would like to find a home to give them to that will love them and treat them well.  They are a bit spoiled.

Maybe you know of someone who would like one or both of them for a 4H or FFA project.  Could you post something on you bulletin board?  We live in Genesee and Sally works for Potter County Human Services in Roulette so she could stop by one day and talk to you about them on her way to or from work.

Thanks

Will or Sally
