The BQA
program is designed to improve the value and quality of beef throughout the
industry by training producers in the best management practices. The classroom
training session is the first level of a two-part program. The classroom training session will help
train beef producers in best management practices as a way to help them improve
their beef’s value. The second part of the training is a chute-side training
session. Producers will see the effects and
outcomes of shots given in the meat and/or muscle depending on the route of
administration and type of product given.
Recertification
is required every two years. Producers who complete the two-level program will
receive a certification manual which includes helpful reference material and record-keeping
forms. Certified producers will also receive a Free Certified Producer farm
sign, opportunity to purchase BQA Allflex ear tags, Free PA Preferred/BQA Beef
stickers to label beef you sell, access to calf pool sales, access to sell beef
to BQA retail programs, Free BVD PI Test Kits, a monthly newsletter, and much
more.
